Email Marketing Tips And Strategies To Start You Off

• Double Opt-In: A customer must be given two chances to verify their subscription to your mailing list. A double-opt in usually works in the following method. The customer gives his email address on your website. He then has to click on a verification link sent in the first email by your company. This is an excellent email marketing tip or tactic.

• Unsubscribe Option: All customers to an email marketing list must be given a choice to unsubscribe at a future point in time. This unsubscribe choice is usually given at the bottom of every email sent by the company.

• Acquiring email addresses: A great way to gather email addresses is to gather them on a high traffic webpage on your website. Adding a subscription link to such a page works marvel. Offering free incentives to visitors to join your mailing list also works. Add to the email marketing package by creating free software, or an e-book or any other related gift to suggest to the customers as soon as they sign up on your email marketing venture. Another way to accumulate email addresses is to buy an email list. But do take into consideration the following email marketing guidelines and strategies while doing this. First- purchase these lists from distributors who enjoy an esteemed reputation. Second, try and purchase a list that includes customers in the market section that you want to target.

• Format: Your emails must be sent in both HTML and plain text format. This email marketing tips and tactic allows an greater number of people to read your emails.

• Regularity: The trick to email marketing is getting the timing right. Keep in mind to send email newsletters frequently. Once a month on a predetermined date, or once every two weeks is an excellent option. Sending too many mails might irritate the subscriber who then just might unsubscribe. So once you get the timing of your emails right, you stay in the subscriber’s memory and will be able to sell your ideas and products frequently. Following the above email marketing guidelines and tactics will improve your product value while adding to your business insight. No one wants his business newsletter to be cluttered as spam. Understanding Email Marketing

The Internet allows email marketers an opportunity like no other. This is the opportunity to reach out to millions of people in a matter of seconds. The response rate on marketing emails is quite high when opt-in email addresses are used. Despite the simplicity of email marketing there are some basics you will need to understand to ensure that you are going about the process in the best way possible.

There are certainly some amazing benefits to email marketing so take your time to understand it. Then, in no time you will be able to reach out to large numbers of people by hitting the send button and literally fill your inbox with orders and your bank account with money. The following are a few of the benefits of email marketing as well as how you should use this method to benefit you.

Fast One of the most amazing aspects of email marketing is that it is fast to send out the emails and then the response to the emails is just as fast. It is quite possible to send out your first marketing email and within minutes have orders in your inbox. There is no other method of marketing your product that is as fast and amazing as email marketing when it is used correctly.

Affordable In general, advertising is expensive. However, when you are using email marketing you will find that you won’t need to spend much money at all. All you really need is a computer, Internet connection, and a little bit of time to write an email to market your products and services. Basically, sending an email is free although you do have to pay for other things to be able to do so.

Testing Marketing emails will need to be tested. That is part of email marketing, or any kind of marketing really. With email marketing you will be able to test various emails much faster simply because the entire process is sped up. Give it a try and you will be able to make marketing decisions quickly and easily thanks to the web!

Responses With direct marketing you may have to wait days, weeks, or even months for the response you are looking for. With email marketing you can have your first response within minutes of sending out an email. That’s amazing and what email marketing is all about. Individuals receive marketing emails and then they make a decision. They will either delete the email without ever reading it, read it and delete it, or read it and make a purchase. Those who make a purchase will forward the email to their friends and family members if they were happy with their purchase. That’s why it’s so important to please your customers!

Tips For Running An Effective Email Marketing Campaign

It seems that what emerged as sound email principles and etiquette apply just as well to email marketing. But its not just email marketing… it’s effective email marketing.

Where previously formal letters and faxes used to be the way to communicate with clients and potential customers, the shift to the ‘softcopy’ world of the Web has meant that this same type of communication would have to happen in a format pertinent to this new venue. Email and email marketing asserted itself as the prime method of contact then. From brochures to customer support, everything can now take place through a few types on the keyboard and few clicks of the mouse.

However, there still is a protocol and a proper manner for effective email marketing:

- Be clear

Email is a shortened form of communication. There is no space for flowery and overtly ego-soothing language. Basic courtesy applies, like proper greetings and such, but on the whole, emails should be short and clear. Get to the point as soon as possible. Let your recipient know what is expected of him, what he stands to gain through this communication, and how he can gain it (for example, what he has to do, such as be within the first hundred to visit a site and thus earn a discount)

- Offer value, not information

Provide incentive for the email reader to read and click through. Add value to your communication. Attract and seduce. Don’t be surprised a boring, hum-drum email is deleted as soon as the recipient reads the first few lines. Entice, and do not provide too much information in the content. The website is there for this purpose. The email is for communication.

- Prefer text

Graphics take long to load and often emails with graphics and attachments are deleted immediately or go to a junk mail folder.

- Label your images if you use them.

Some people get only the text in an email in their browser. If you include graphics but fail to label them, the whole message may not make sense or the reader may not be enticed. Providing labels lets him know what stands at such a place in the message.

- Use a hook

You should aim to catch the attention of your reader from the first line itself. A good hook works then. Its message should be relevant and clear so that the customer can then immediately decide to read on or not. Remember that a reader is won through the first few lines itself.

- Support the hook

In the body of your email, use relevant information to support your hook and its message. However, be concise, as this isn’t an opportunity for an info dump. Your information should simply reinforce your hook.

- Be short and concise

Readers won’t read every word that is down in an email. They usually scan the thing in whole. Use the space you have succinctly to maximize the opportunity to grasp the reader.

- Provide the most important information first

Make efficient use of the top space of your email. Many readers read email through a preview pane. The top third of your email will be displayed in this pane, and based on this information, a reader may decide to read the full or delete the message already.

- Use a legible and easy to grasp format
- Arrange your text in a manner that is pleasant to the eye.
- Delineate text and paragraphs using hyphens or lines.
- Use legible font such as Georgia and Verdana in a readable size.
- Use bullets and lists to more clearly define your message so it can be grasped at first glance.

- Use the active voice

The active voice ‘involves’ the reader in the message and pushes him to react.

- Know your audience

And write accordingly with appropriate wording and information.

- Avoid URLs that are too long

Such addresses in emails can be difficult to click as they lose their link when they are ‘broken’ onto 2 or more lines.
Aim to have a URL on its own line. If needed, shrink the text for the link. Or you can offer the address without a hyperlink but as a ‘copy and paste’ option.

- Avoid caps and excessive use of punctuation marks

That’s basic email etiquette, which carries forward into your business communication.

- Offer an option to unsubscribe

Always offer a ‘way out’ for your recipients. An unsubscribe link is expected to be seen at the bottom of the email.
Providing your recipient with the option to continue receiving emails or to terminate the reception shows caring and courtesy to the reader.

Also ensure that an unsubscription is effective immediately.

- Easy to subscribe as well

Make it easy to subscribe as well. Provide links and offer a way to your guest book or how to provide comments and feedback. This shows consideration on your behalf.
It is also a good idea to let your readers know that they are free to forward the email as well.

- Make it easy to change subscription address

This way, if a client or recipient changes his address, he can make sure the email follows as well.

- Make good use of your subject line

The headline of your message should go in the subject box, as this is the first glimpse recipients will have to your email. Use it judiciously to convey information.

- Address your recipients by their name

This shows consideration and a personal touch. You definitely win over more people through a personalized message than through an impersonal mass bundling.

- Avoid in holiday periods

This time is often holiday from emails too, so keep email marketing communications to the minimum too.
You could however send out a message with the holiday’s greetings and best wishes.

- Consistency with corporate design

Having the same kind of layout and formatting as your website and other business communication supports ensures that someone recognizes your email at first glance too.

Once you have found the right template/format, use it every time.

- An email address that says who you are

People are more apt to trust a message with a From line containing information about who you are and where you’re from. This will also prevent your email from being listed as spam and from ending in the junk email folder.

- The landing page should fit the email and the offer

Make sure you are leading your reader to the right destination through the links provided in the message.

People hate wasting their time, and if this happens even once, you stand the risk of losing credibility.

By tailoring your landing page for links, you also make better use of your website to further engage the customer’s interest.

- Motivate newsletter sign up with a freebie or bonus
Offer something in return as an incentive. This could win you a lot of new subscriptions.

- Have good multimedia if you are using it

If you are using audio or video, make sure they are of good quality and can be accessed easily.

- Reply to requests within 24 hours

This is basically common courtesy but it pays to be recalled. Ensuring prompt replies show you care and value your customers.

- Email should be service oriented, not marketing oriented as with paper

Your aim through email marketing is to inform and provide an ‘easy’ access to your company.

- Customize so it doesn’t look like spam

Make sure your message is unique in its content and format so it isn’t brushed off as spam.

- Offer user control if possible

Wherever possible, give your reader the opportunity to tailor your communications to him. People are most apt to listen to the information they have asked for.

- Provide contact information for you

Always provide a way of contacting you. The signature in emails is one of your greatest effective email marketing assets.

By making use of these email marketing tips, you should be able to create a successful and effective email marketing campaign.

Email Marketing Software and Privately Owned Used Car Dealerships

Email Marketing Software and Privately Owned Used Car Dealerships

Do you know how easy email marketing software can make your life? As a private used car dealership owner or operator, you can use email marketing to connect you with other businesses and potential clients, without having to break the bank. This will help you convert more potential clients into buyers and help you generate more business with other dealerships.

Email marketing software is designed to help you create a professionally designed email marketing campaign in minutes. By designing a campaign that appeals to your potential customers, you have a greater opportunity for repeat business. Because top-ranked email marketing software will include a comprehensive list manager, you will be able to segment your contacts by the cars that they might be interested in. This will change the design of your campaigns.

Your design can include images of the vehicle’s interior, front, side, trunk-space, or any other special features that you would like to show, enhancing the likelihood of the potential sale. The best email marketing programs will make it so simple for you to upload images with just a click of a button. The written content you will include can be cut and pasted into the available fields, and can be edited and stylized to suit your vision. By designing your campaigns to show the features of your vehicles, you will increase the amount of conversions of potential clients.

You can also use these campaigns to unite yourself with other dealerships, creating an affiliate program that will earn you more commissions. By adding other dealerships to your contact list, you can send them the campaigns that you create. This will allow other dealerships to send you clients for a percentage of commissions based on the client’s interest in the vehicle that you are selling, and vice-versa. If other dealerships have a vehicle that matches a client’s needs; you can earn a little extra cash by sending the client their way for a small piece of the pie. This is a simple way that email marketing programs can help you in earning a little dough on the side.

Some things to keep in mind: the better the email marketing program, the more choice they are going to offer you. As an example, the a top ranked email marketing programs will allow you to choose your marketing strategy by offering you either “Unlimited Monthly Sending” or the use of a “credit system”. Using a monthly billing plan for email marketing software means you have a monthly cost based on the size of your subscriber list (the higher the number of subscribers, the higher the cost per month) that allows you an unlimited amount of sending within that month. This works great for enterprise-level businesses that are constantly sending out to hundreds of thousands of clients on a consistent basis.

With the credit system, you purchase an amount of credits depending on how you want to structure your email marketing strategy. Because one email address is the equivalent of one credit, you can determine how many email blasts you plan on doing for any certain campaign. As an example, if you have 3,000 subscribers that you want to send to 5 times over the next 6 months, up front you will purchase 15,000 credits (3,000 x 5). This saves you hundreds of dollars, as credit packages’ costs per thousand are reduced if you purchase more up front. Because the credits do not have a roll-over fee or a monthly charge, it puts you in full control of your marketing. You are not tied into marketing every single month. You have the freedom to choose whether or not you will market via email that month, depending on the needs and seasonality of your business.

The credit system tends to work better for small and medium sized businesses. The monthly costs can get expensive and the need to market every month isn’t always there. Plus, if you have a budget set aside for a certain campaign you are doing, you can use the credits to match your needs in terms of budget. However, this can be a financially unsound decision if you are an enterprise level business. Using email marketing software in the form of credits is just not cost effective for a company that sends out hundreds of thousands of emails per month.

The credit system is likely to work better when sending out as a privately-owned used car dealership. Although you will be sending out frequently, the amount of subscribers that you send to will likely be smaller in volume. Therefore you can purchase a large amount of email credits up front and draw from them as you would a bank account.

You will also want to choose email marketing software that allows you unlimited possibilities in terms of list management. This will allow you to create a groupings of customers based on the kind of car they were looking at, or how interested they seemed (Hot, Warm, Cold), what week they came onto your lot, etc. This will help you to organize who you are sending to and keep you more organized. Because the better email marketing programs are set up with results tracking, you will be able to see exactly who is opening, clicking and forwarding your emails. This is extremely useful information for future marketing strategic planning.

Email marketing software will help you develop your business contacts and clients by giving you professional looking campaigns and list management and tracking capabilities. Because email marketing programs only cost a few dollars to use, it could totally reinvent the way that you do business. Email marketing software will make your privately owned used car dealership feel brand-new!

Email Marketing Terms to Know

When researching email marketing software, it’s important to know what to look for in the products you are looking up. Here are a few things to remember when looking for email marketing software for your business.

When evaluating email marketing software, it is important to know some buzz words, key words, and things to consider so that you are properly informed. As a small business owner, you will greatly benefit from email marketing, as it helps you stay in contact with your current or potential clients. It is an important service that can greatly increase sales. Therefore, it is important to be informed before making a choice on the email marketing solution you are choosing.

The following is a glossary of email marketing buzz words that you might come across, and what they mean to you and your business.

Email Authentication: These are various bits of information that identify the sender to the Internet Service Providers (ISPs). It’s a kind of accountability for the messages that you are sending out.

The latest technologies in this field include Doman Keys, DKIM and SPF records. Any great email marketing software provider will take care of these technologies on your business’ behalf, so you don’t have to worry about it. If you speak to an email marketing account executive, make sure to ask if they’re taking care of email authentication for you, and inquire about which technologies they’re using.

Domain Keys (DK); Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM): Are signatures that are added to your emails to verify the sender (or domain) and the content within the message. This helps get your messages into your subscribers’ inbox, as it is information that spam bots/filters can identify. The best email marketing organizations have this in place, so that your emails have the best possible chances of landing in your subscribers inboxes.

Spam: Is the common term for unsolicited bulk-email. When an email is sent to an address that did not opt-in (or give direct permission) to receive the email, or is sent multiple times to the same address, it is considered Spam. The most respected email marketing companies will not take on customers who are planning to send Spam messages. In fact, the top companies will catch Spam messages before they go out, and prevent the sender from sending them.

Tracking – Once you send out a message, you can track opens, clicks, forwards, and bounces: The best email marketing companies will have a comprehensive tracking beacon allowing you to see which of your subscribers have opened clicked and forwarded your emails. You will also be able to take this information and use it for future campaigns.

It will provide you with a better understanding of your subscribers, and therefore allow you to develop a proper strategy to market to them accordingly. “Opens” relates to which of your subscribers have actually seen the content of your email, by clicking on it in their inbox.

”Clicks” are a list of subscribers that have pressed on one of the links in the email that you have set up. Look for an email marketing software that will give you information as to who, exactly who clicked on each link, and when they did it. “Forwards” lists the subscribers that have passed your message onto other interested parties.

”Bounces” are the emails that didn’t arrive to the intended reader, because either the subscriber’s mailbox was full, the address no longer exists, their server has timed out (meaning the end computer was not responding to the original computer’s message) or because the security features on the subscribers account are set extremely high.

Make sure that you know what you are looking for in an email marketing software, so that you campaign s will be as successful as can be. Look for the email marketing software companies that give you the best possible chances to get your email into the inbox of you subscribers.
